City Girls

It's strange to have 4-day weekends every week. I've had three pretty eventful days and I still have Sunday and Monday! I suppose I'll just have to get involved with school or some such.

Thursday evening was spent with Jackie and her friends for a "girls night" thing, where we pretty much just watched Sex and the City. This is the first time I've really watched the show, and it's so... unrealistic. Well, I'm not sure if the point of the show is to reflect real 30-something women living in a big city, but all of the characters were so shallow and preoccupied with useless drama. I hate drama. I feel that the people who have the most drama in their lives sought it out in the first place, and I've done a pretty good job of avoiding it my whole life. This show is all about women throwing themselves at men, and I guess that makes for a good show, but really... obnoxious... characters. Are these women the modern women of today? Maybe they are supposed to appear self-confident and proud, but I thought they were just superficial and not honestly happy women. Plus, Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) is the main character of the show, is she supposed to be the most fashionable? All of her outfits are ATROCIOUS. They're more like costumes.

Ashley and I made a short trip to Columbus to take care of my apartment lease with the new roommate. Then Ashley, former roommate Ashley and I went to Chipotle and Urban Outfitters, where unfortunately I blew a ridiculous amount of money on one jacket, and Ashley C blew a ridiculous amount of money on a pair of really hot jeans. I wonder, how am I going to separate these Ashleys in the future? Ashley C has had two Amys as roommates, and she just calls one of them "Other Amy," but I can't do that, so should I just call them Ash and Tex? Cuyjet and Nelson? AC and AN? Anyway, the rest of the night I managed to see eeeeveryone that mattered to me from OSU (though it'd be nice to see Kia), and I'm so happy that I made such great friends while I was there. I'm not doing so hot of a job keeping up with them, but hopefully I'll make a few more visits down to Columbus. One point in the night David, AC and I (I think I will stick to initials) went to Mad Mex for some food and apparently water exploded in their kitchen so we got free chips and salsa. That was a good thing. Today we all had lunch at the Blue Danube, this really nice joint on North Campus that I wish I had been to while still at OSU, and then AC and I left for Kent.

I was so sad to leave Columbus. I realize that I can't ever live in a town as small as Kent. I just don't feel like I can invest anything in such a small place, and I'd always be thinking of visiting larger cities. While we were in Columbus, I just kept observing all the college and city life and it just felt like a place where I could grow and develop. Granted, Columbus isn't the greatest city, and I really doubt I'd want to live there in the future, but it would have been nice if Kent had more to offer to me right now. Alright, I'm sure everyone is sick of me complaining about Kent. It's not that bad, I just feel really boxed in. And I know what the solution would be, but I don't think I'll be getting a car anytime soon. Sigh.

Oh, one more thing. On Thursday I found $20! Right on the floor! I think that's the best thing that's happened to me all week. :beams: Perhaps I should spend it on poker and try to double up. Let it ride, haha!

I like that picture. It's got really great colors. What is it and who is that? Looks like it could maybe be AC, I dunno.

It's my friend David and we're at Mad Mex before the kitchen went kerplow. You should also check out my "Hot City Streets" pictures on facebook, heh.
