I Want My Old MTV

Faithless - Bombs

I'm not the most political person out there, but this is a very well done video.

I was thinking the other day that music videos are a dying art - mainly because you can't find music videos on cable TV anymore (you have to have demand or satellite to get music channels). And even then, with the songs out these days, they're just clips of booty shakin' and money flashin'. No more cool music videos, not since the days I taped 120 Minutes and Amp. Micael Gondry, quit making movies and go back to music videos! Like one of my all-time favorite music videos:

Chemical Brothers - Star Guitar

Listening: Faithless - To All New Arrivals
Playing: Final Fantasy XII
Watching: Ah! My Goddess and Planet Earth

I Miss Cat Scratching

After reading this article in the Washington Post, I am determined to pick up my violin again this summer. I had already planned on it, but now I am certain. It's a long article, about an experiment that the Post set up to test how society would react to beauty in a certain environment. In this case, the environment was a busy metro station, and the beauty was a certain famous violinist named Joshua Bell dressed as a street performer. For the 45 minutes that he played (and this guy is a prodigy, mind you), only one person recognized him, one other realized that he was actually talented, and he made $32.17. This music is lost on people, and I don't want to lose it anymore. Yep, that's what I'll be doing this summer. Also going to Taiwan and China ^_^ It's all about going back to my roots.

Listening: really bad Indian music. Thanks Ashley.
Playing: FFXII (PS2)
Watching: Poooooootie Tang and Ah! My Goddess
